Acting Career

You may know him from CBC’s hit show Murdoch Mysteries, but Yannick’s acting career began back in 1984, when he was cast in CBC’s critically acclaimed movie Hockey Night. Yannick later was cast as the star in the CBC series Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy; as attorney Brian Tedrow in the hit Showtime series Soul Food; and as FBI Agent Jack Hudson in the popular crime series Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye. He also played the lead in the indie film Nothing Really Matters.

Additional credits include the Lifetime movie Too Late to Say Goodbye with Rob Lowe; and Young At Heart for CBS and Warner Brothers, in a supporting role opposite Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis and the legendary Frank Sinatra.

Murdoch Mysteries has had years of continued success, rising to be Canada’s longest-running and most-watched period mystery. Over the years, Yannick has become more involved in the show
— he’s earned the title of Executive Producer and has even directed several episodes.

Yannick has been nominated for many Canadian Screen Awards and won Best Lead Actor for Murdoch Mysteries in 2018.
