Jennifer Valentyne
Jennifer Valentyne is one of the most recognizable faces on television having spent 23 years hosting Breakfast Television’s “Live Eye” segment. She has also been the host of Global News Morning, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette After Show, Movie Date, the Q107 Morning Radio Show, and The Parenting Show. Her infectious enthusiasm lights up everything she does.
Over the course of her career, Valentyne has interviewed celebrities such as Sir Richard Branson, Billy Crystal, Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum, and Harrison Ford, but her passion has always been people in the community — she has the exceptional gift of unearthing their fascinating stories and sharing them in a meaningful way.
Valentyne’s television career began while attending Centennial College for Radio and Television Broadcasting where she worked as the Key590 radio station Cash Car Girl while studying. After an internship with MuchMusic, she obtained a full-time position as a graphics operator before joining CityTV in her memorable role as the singing weather girl, and the rest is history.
A founding member of the comedy troupe “On the Off Ramp”, Valentyne studied improv at The Second City, where she worked alongside one of the originals, Joe Flaherty, on character building. She has been writing songs and singing jazz since she was a teenager and went on tour after releasing two CDs.
In 2017, Valentyne, along with her daughter Georgia, launched Mother Daughter Date to chronicle their mother-daughter adventures across all social media platforms. Their original videos have reached over 7 million views. They also host the Mother Daughter Date podcast. Across her personal social media channels, Valentyne has reached over 80 million video views.
Valentyne is also deeply fulfilled by giving back to the community with volunteer initiatives and is actively involved with Camp Oochigeas, The Children’s Breakfast Club, Daily Bread Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity.
