Farah Perelmuter

CEO & Co-Founder

Farah Perelmuter was born an entrepreneur. She started her first business when she was nine years old performing at birthday parties. Her second big entrepreneurial success happened when she was 16. She had a flop in her early twenties, but it was followed by her best idea yet…Speakers Spotlight.

In 1995 Farah and Martin Perelmuter got married, moved into an apartment, quit their jobs and started Speakers Spotlight. The young couple had no experience, no clients, no staff, no money and shared a phone. Every day they scoured the local phonebook looking for opportunities. Eventually they had enough funds to purchase a computer and business cards. Finally, their adventure began.

Speakers Spotlight represents and books the most fascinating personalities to speak at events around the world. They represent anyone from bestselling authors, Olympians, acclaimed business leaders, and well-known comedians, to celebrities and astronauts. To date, they have booked nearly 35,000 keynotes in more than 35 countries. Their sister company, The Spotlight Agency, connects high-calibre talent with opportunities worldwide. Celebrities from entertainment, sports, food, décor, and more, are united with brands, digital content, film, and television.

Speakers Spotlight was selected by Profit Magazine as one of the 100 fastest growing companies in Canada, and Farah and Martin have been named finalists for the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of The Year Award” twice. Farah has been recognized in the events industry numerous times. Profit Magazine ranked her as one of Canada’s “Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs” for seven consecutive years, and she was selected as one of “Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100” through the Women’s Executive Network. The Women’s Post named her one of Canada’s “Top 20 Women of the Year.”

Farah has been featured numerous times in media and her opinions have been quoted in various business books including in the first Canadian edition of Contemporary Business Communication, a college and university textbook. She has served on the Board of Young Presidents Organization (YPO, local Toronto Chapter) and is proud to currently serve on the Western University Alumni Board and act as Special Advisor to the University of Winnipeg Foundation.
