Sangita Patel
Sangita Patel is one of Canada’s most engaging media personalities. As a popular entertainment reporter for ET Canada, she’s interviewed the biggest stars from around the globe, in-studio and on the red carpet. Now, as the host of ET Canada Weekend, she brings in-depth celebrity interviews as well as exclusive features to her dedicated Canadian audience. Named one of HELLO! Canada magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People”, Sangita is also a devoted mom and fitness enthusiast.
For four seasons, Sangita was the host of HGTV Canada’s hit reality show, Home to Win, which earned her a nomination for Best Host in the lifestyle category at the Canadian Screen Awards (CSA). She has also been nominated for the CSA’s “Audience Choice Award” and named “Television Personality of The Year” by Anokhi magazine and one of the “50 Most Influential Global South Asians” by Vogue India.
Sangita has also taken on cameo roles in feature films including Arrival and TV shows like Titans, Murdoch Mysteries, and Guillermo Del Toro’s The Strain. She’s also entering her third year as Canada’s COVERGIRL Ambassador, where she is honoured to use her platform to show how vital representation is in Canadian media, as well as the beauty industry.
Sangita has a passion for giving back to her community. At the beginning of the pandemic, she and “Raptor’s Superfan” Nav Bhatia partnered on an initiative to help deliver food to frontline workers at shelters, hospitals, and community kitchens. When the country of India was grappling with the world’s worst COVID-19 crisis, Sangita spearheaded ET Canada‘s “Help India” broadcast special, bringing together some of the biggest names in entertainment to raise over $135,000 for India’s COVID-19 relief fund.
With her husband, two daughters, and their new dog, Indie, Sangita always aims to live life to the fullest. She is well-known for her love of fitness and health and coined the famed hashtag #FitnessTuesday to inspire and motivate her dedicated community of followers.
