Alyson Schafer
Alyson Schafer is an internationally acclaimed parenting expert, recognized by Canadians across the country as the resident parenting expert on Global’s The Morning Show and Global Morning News. Armed with years of research and both clinical and field experience, Alyson provides a fresh and positive perspective on family dynamics. Schafer is the author of three bestselling parenting books: Breaking the Good Mom Myth; Honey, I Wrecked the Kids; and her latest, Ain’t Misbehavin’. She is also the host of the podcast, Parenting the Adlerian Way, and was previously the creator and host of television’s The Parenting Show for eight successful seasons. As a popular keynote speaker, Alyson has presented three TEDx Talks, including the inaugural [email protected] in Belgium.
Schafer has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Arts in Counselling from the Adler School of Chicago. She is currently a practicing Adlerian family counsellor who promotes a firm but friendly democratic parenting style. A lover of books, art, music, food, travel, and the great outdoors, Schafer lives in Toronto and has two young adult daughters.
