Rick Campanelli is one of Canada’s most recognizable television personalities. After spending nearly a decade with MuchMusic as one of their most popular hosts, he made the leap from the “nation’s music station” to ET Canada, where he covered many of the world’s most glamourous events — from the Golden Globes to the Oscars. Today, Rick charms audiences nationwide as the dynamic entertainment correspondent on Breakfast Television. Previously, he co-hosted programs on popular radio stations Z103.5 and 98.1 CHFI before moving on to host his own Sunday radio show, CHFI’s Rewind with Rick Campanelli.
Rick’s on-air career started after winning the 1994 MuchMusic Temp contest. His easy-going, up-front style quickly made him a fan-favourite of viewers from coast to coast. From his flying leap off a jagged cliff with Sean Paul, to his dive out of an airplane with the Foo Fighters, to the pounding he took from pro wrestler, Cain, his willingness to go the extra distance speaks volumes about his work ethic and dedication.
After nearly 10 loyal years at MuchMusic, Rick joined the revered Entertainment Tonight brand with the launch of ET Canada into the Canadian marketplace. He co-hosted the program for 12 years. Rick also hosted Food Network Canada’s The Incredible Food Race, and in 2023, appeared on the popular competition series, The Traitors Canada.
In his first publication, Tempted: My Story, Rick recounts his rise to fame and his storied career in the broadcasting industry, offering a candid look at his public life in front of the camera — as well as his secret life behind the scenes.
A busy father of three, Rick has also been involved with several charitable organizations including World Vision Canada, Tuberous Sclerosis, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, McMaster Children’s Hospital, and Kids Help Phone.
