Scott Moir made Olympic history at the 2010 Games alongside his on-ice partner, Tessa Virtue. The winner of three Olympic gold medals — and five Olympic medals in total — he is one of the most decorated figure skaters of all time. Currently, he acts as Head Coach and Managing Director of International Academy of Montreal’s Ontario Campus, guiding North American Olympic hopefuls to achieve their best possible results.

At the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, Scott and Tessa were not only the first ice dancers from North America to win the Olympic gold medal, but they were also the first ice dance team to win on home ice, the first to win gold in their Olympic debut, and the youngest pair to win. At the 2014 Winter Olympics, they won silver medals in ice dancing and in the team event. Additionally, they were world champions in 2010, 2012, and 2017.

After taking two years off following the Olympics in Sochi, the pair made a successful comeback to competition, going undefeated in the 2016-2017 season. They capped off their tremendous competitive career by taking home two gold medals in the ice dance and team events at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang, bringing their Olympic medal total to five.

Among many prestigious accolades, Scott and Tessa were inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame (2018), and just two years later, the pair were honoured with the Order of Canada. In 2023, they were awarded the Order of Sport, marking their induction into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

In addition to coaching, Scott is a proud husband and father of two, residing with his family in southern Ontario.
