Meredith Shaw is the newest co-host of Canada’s #1 morning show, Breakfast Television! Earlier this month, Breakfast Television revealed the exciting news and brought Meredith out for the very first time. “Well, this is going to be fun! I have so much respect for this award-winning team and great admiration for the BT audience,” said Meredith on her debut with the show.
More about Meredith
Meredith Shaw is a master of many things. She began her career as a singer-songwriter, releasing her first album in 2011. That same year, she joined the radio station Boom 97.3 as a weekend host, where she had the chance to interview a wide range of artists. Meredith has also hosted CHUM 104.5’s Afternoon Drive Show and iHeartRadio’s syndicated national show, The Back in the Day Brunch. As part of her new role with Rogers Sports & Media, Meredith is slated to return to radio as the host of a new weekend show, beginning later this fall.
Transitioning to Television
In 2020, Meredith, alongside her now-fiancé Chef Rodney Bowers, created and produced Double Your Dish, which they also hosted together. Viewers were invited into their home kitchen to learn how to create two very different recipes from the same base ingredients. Since the show was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Meredith took on many of the production roles herself, such as lighting, filming, and styling. The show ran for 8 episodes and was even nominated for a Canadian Screen Award.
Style and Body Confidence
Meredith is known to be a passionate advocate for loving your body, just as it is. In a previous interview with Best Health Magazine, Meredith talked about how she got started. “I learned how to love my body through modeling. I felt fierce on set, and I fell in love with my natural body for the first time ever.” Since then, she’s made it her mission to help others fall in love with their own bodies. “Style is the access to the possibility of who you are.” Meredith has gained a loyal following of fans as a regular, inclusive style expert on shows like The Marilyn Denis Show, The Social, Your Morning, and Etalk.
Her growing community on Instagram is where she shares her favourite looks, styling tips, and products. Her fans and followers love her use of bright colours, and popping patterns, that reject the idea of fading into the background. When speaking of her past experiences, particularly in the music industry, Meredith stated “I tried to be less than, tried to be smaller, and it didn’t work for me. That’s why I have such empathy and passion for helping other[s] […] It’s so much better to love your body and to know that you are more than your body, and to know that your worth isn’t tied to the size of your body.” As a popular styling expert, Meredith has an ongoing collaboration with Pennington’s.
