Dragons’ Den Fires Up Season 19
This year marks the arrival of season 19 of Dragons’ Den, and we couldn’t be more excited for our resident Dragons, Michele Romanow, Wes Hall, Arlene Dickinson and the newest addition to our roster — Manjit Minhas! As we watch the season progress, we can’t wait to see what other incredible start-up companies grab the Dragons’ attention. Read on to see what the Dragons have been up to lately:
Michele Romanow
Michele Romanow’s 10th Season
Tech titan Michele Romanow has a lot to celebrate these days: in addition to being co-founder and executive chair of Clearco, Michele has created digital solutions for many of the world’s leading brands, including P&G, Netflix, Starbucks, and Cirque du Soleil, and she has previously been honored with RBC’s Women of Influence Innovation Award. Just recently, she spoke at Canada’s prestigious Tech and Innovation Festival, ELEVATE. This year, she’s back for her 10th season of Dragons’ Den! To celebrate this milestone, we’ve put together a video of our favourite Michele moments below.
Wes Hall
One of Canada’s most influential business icons, Wes Hall is as busy as ever! The “King of Bay Street” was officially named the 35th Chancellor of The University of Toronto earlier this year, and will continue in the role for a three-year term. In addition, 2024 also saw him co-founding an Indigenous real estate advisory, which will work with clients to implement modern construction practices to increase productivity and reduce development costs, as well as advise First Nations who plan on entering real estate, construction or clean energy businesses.
Arlene Dickinson
Fresh off of speaking at this year’s ELEVATE conference, Iconic entrepreneur and venture capitalist Arlene Dickinson is jumping right back in to season 19 of Dragons’ Den! Arlene has earned her reputation as one of the country’s most revered marketing experts — she was even inducted into Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends! She remains passionate about female entrepreneurship, and continues to mentor many female investors across the country.
Manjit Minhas
We are so excited to welcome Manjit Minhas to The Spotlight Agency’s roster this month! Known for co-founding Minhas Breweries with her brother when she was only 19, Manjit is a force to be reckoned with. Their company has grown to be the ninth biggest group of breweries in the world — no small feat! Manjit has been recognized as PROFIT magazine’s Top Growth Entrepreneur, Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs in Canada, Canada’s Top 40 under 40 and Chatelaine Magazine’s Top Entrepreneur Woman of The Year.
Season 19 of Dragons’ Den brings with it new cast members, new celebrity guests and, as always, imaginative ideas and daring deals.
We’ll have our eyes peeled for each exciting new episode, airing on CBC.
